Nokia has revealed the inclusion of 4GB microSD cards for two of its recently announced Nokia X series smartphones, the Nokia X+ and Nokia XL.
The news comes from thr Nokia Conversation blog, where a Nokia fan, @Juan Martinez, asked "What storage do the phones come with?" to which the firm replied "All devices in the Nokia X family can support up to 32GB microSD cards. The Nokia X+ and Nokia XL come with a 4GB card included."
While this doesn't eliminate the user worry of low inbuilt storage (the three Nokia X series phones feature 4GB of inbuilt storage), the inclusion of a bundled microSD card for two models should help placate users slightly.
Talking about the storage in Nokia handsets, it has been discovered that the Nokia Lumia 1520 phablet, which was launched last year, can support 128GB microSDXC external card storage. The user who tested the card also mentions better benchmark results and smooth stutter-free recording of videos. However, it has been pointed out that 1080p full-HD video recording is still not very smooth.
On the Conversations blog, Nokia also revealed that the Nokia X handsets will arrive with BBM and WeChat messaging services pre-loaded. However, one would have to download other apps like WhatsApp and Instagram from third-part app stores such as Aptoide and 1Mobile.
Unlike Windows Phone 8 handsets, the Nokia X family will not be able to change tile colours as "they're pre-determined by category." However, one can resize and re-arrange the tiles on the home screen.
Nokia X is also confirmed to support widgets, which can be accessed directly "from the home screen and can be placed alongside the tiles."
