Samsung Galaxy S5 and Galaxy S5-LTE Receive Price Cuts Again in India

Samsung seems to be re-targeting the price-conscious Indian market with a vengeance, as the South Korean firm has again slashed the price of its flagship smartphone in India, the Galaxy S5, alongside the LTE-variant of the handset.

The Samsung Galaxy S5 is now officially available at Rs. 34,900 on the company's online India store, compared to the previous price tag of Rs. 37,500 - a price cut of Rs. 2,600. The Samsung Galaxy S5-LTE is now available at Rs. 36,900, down roughly Rs. 3,400 from its earlier price of Rs. 40,300.

Notably, this is the second price cut for both of these smartphones in less than a month, and the third in the span of three months. The first was in early September.

The last price cut in October saw the Samsung Galaxy S5 price coming down to Rs. 37,500 from Rs. 43,250 - a price cut of Rs. 5,750. The Samsung Galaxy S5-LTE, on the other hand, was available at as low at Rs. 40,300, down roughly Rs. 4,990 from its earlier price of Rs. 45,290.

The Samsung Galaxy S5 (Review | Pictures) went on sale in India via Samsung's India online store and physical retail stores at Rs. 51,500 in April. Meanwhile, the Galaxy S5-LTE variant went on sale at Rs. 53,448 in July.

If the new prices of the Galaxy S5 and Galaxy S5-LTE are compared to the launch prices of both the handsets, we can see a massive price slash of Rs. 16,600 since the April launch of the Galaxy S5 and a Rs. 16,548 price cut since the July launch of the Galaxy S5-LTE.

At the end of October, Samsung also slashed prices of various Galaxy smartphones in India, namely the Galaxy Ace NXT, Galaxy Star Advance, Galaxy Grand Neo, Galaxy S3 Neo, and the Galaxy Note 3 Neo.
